Team Description:
The English Language Sciences Team focuses on the study of the English language from theoretical, descriptive, and applied perspectives. It explores contemporary approaches to linguistics, discourse analysis, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, and language pedagogy, with particular attention to the use and development of English in multilingual and academic contexts. The team also seeks to promote research into English language practices in the Algerian and broader international contexts.

Activities and Areas of Interest:
The team conducts research on linguistic and discursive phenomena in English and organizes seminars, study days, workshops, training sessions, and scientific meetings. It encourages the active participation of faculty members, researchers, and Master’s and PhD students in research projects and academic activities. Its areas of interest include English linguistics, TESOL/TEFL, EFL pedagogy, discourse analysis, sociolinguistics, pragmatics, terminology, translation, corpus linguistics, and the use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in English language teaching and research.
